Ninety years ago, Irving Schott designed the iconic black leather motorcycle jacket. To celebrate the anniversary, the family-run Schott brand has released a limited-edition Perfecto jacket. The vintage-inspired design is hand-cut from mid-weight, waxy pebbled cowhide leather. It features a detachable black mouton collar and an oblong leather zipper pull. It pays homage to the originals, with 1950s design details including a Perfecto label from that era, replica zippers that have pressed metal sliders and U-shaped top stops and bridge stops. Along with a herringbone wool lining, the jacket has a quilted nylon kicker for added warmth and protection.
Made in Union, New Jersey, this jacket is limited to 500 pieces and costs $1,250. So if you’re in the market for a great leather jacket and want an homage to a classic, you can pick one of these up online or hop on the phone and see if your local shop has one in stock.
