These Sharp Dress Shirts Were Made to Feel Like Pajamas

They blend cotton, silk and micro modal to create some of the most comfortable shirts on the market.

As a category, dress shirts have earned a pretty bad rep as part of the uncomfortable sartorial standard to which generations of working people have been held. And while they’re not all starchy, neck-ringing signifiers of conformist capitalism, a pretty wide swath could stand to be, well, easier to wear.

That’s the sentiment behind the Soft New Classics line from Eton Shirts, which launched this month. The 90-year-old Swedish clothier took great care to blend its already soft cotton with silk and micro modal, resulting in shirts that feel incomparably soft when they’re brand new and only get softer with wear. They skillfully blur the very fine line between what’s office appropriate and what’s not. And, thankfully, they’re available on Eton’s website in a great variety of colors and patterns. The shirts are priced between $175 and $225 — not bargains, certainly, but well worth the price for how insanely comfortable they feel.
