Oakland-based Roy Slapper is known for singlehandedly producing some of the most exacting jeans available. His new Roy for Self Edge R01 style is no exception and its details are second to none. It is cut from proprietary Black-Seed denim which Slapper designed with the Cone Mills White Oak plant. This 13.5-ounce loomstate denim has a conventional American cotton warp and a Supima cotton weft. For the fabric, Slapper even shipped a custom-color thread to the White Oak plant to be used through the selvedge line.

The R01 features 10-ounce ring-spun White Oak pocket bags, lined rear pockets, solid-copper rivets and blackened-brass buttons. Slapper chose an orange Pima cotton thread for the contrast stitching and used a vegan patch with custom art by Dan Cassaro.

The classic straight-taper fit jeans are available in 30 to 34, 36 and 38 and cost $395. Available at Self Edge stores at noon today, remaining stock will be up for grabs at 5 PM EST online — make sure to set your alarms now.
