Popping in to the Pop Up Flea

The 2013 Pop Up Flea NYC shows off an overwhelming assortment of goods covering every aspect of a man’s wardrobe, from a beautiful Tiffany & Co-signed Rolex DateJust from Hodinkee to boots and leather goods from nearly every vendor at the show. Seriously, the PUF may or may not be the largest concentration of tanned hide ever assembled in one NY room.

In case you don’t already know, the Pop Up Flea started in 2009 when Randy Goldberg and Michael Williams decided, over cocktails, to bring 11 brands together for a stylish weekend flea market in New York’s Nolita neighborhood. Four and a half years later the two have crammed this year’s PUF, located at an expansive Soho studio, with an impressive 54 brands just months after inaugurating a Pop Up Flea London. Progress, we say. The growth of PUF is a testament to both the strength of the menswear-focused (or #menswear focused) event and the burgeoning state of men’s style itself.

Together it’s a testament to locally made goods and quality craftsmanship — and desparately finding a way to slide you credit card across your monitor. If you’re in New York, head to 82 Mercer Street and check out the goods. They’re good. And don’t despair if you’re one of the 7,119,000,000 people that aren’t in New York City; featured items from the show are available online at East Dane for your no-pants shopping convenience. Clever.
