Converse’s Handsome Winter Boot Is Here to Remind You the Brand Makes More than Just Sneakers

Although the brand is known (and beloved) globally thanks to the Chuck Taylor, this new style may just change that.

The most famous Converse shoe is undoubtedly the Chuck Taylor, but if you only associated the brand with its one mega-popular style, you’d be missing out on its wide selection of footwear options, including some very capable boots.

The third collaborative effort between Tyler, the Creator and Converse is also the partnership’s first-ever winter boot.

In their third collaborative effort (and first-ever co-created winter boot,) Tyler, the Creator and Converse have teamed up on a premium cold-weather stepper that captures both the artist’s unique aesthetic and the brand’s beloved archival details.

Step in a new direction

The limited-edition 1908 Bronco Boot would be hard to peg as a Converse right off the bat. In fact, if it didn’t feature the “Converse All Star” embroidered patch on the ankle, it might be impossible to place, even though it’s based off an archival style from the ’90s.

Although the embroidered patch is a dead giveaway, the tonal approach makes it a subtler brand marker.

The original boot that inspired Tyler, the Creator’s third collaboration with Converse blended classic Chuck DNA, durability and style in one capable package. The new 1908 Bronco Boot achieves a similarly compelling balance, with a few key updates.

First, there’s the premium leather upper, available in two colors: “Emperador/Apple Cinnamon” (brown) and “Black/Apple Cinnamon” (black) as well as an archival rubber toe overlay that adds both protection and unique style.

Nods to Golf le Fleur*, (Tyler, the Creator’s luxury lifestyle brand, which started as a collaboration with Converse,) appear throughout the boot.

These details include the aforementioned upper, which lends elegance to the style, as well as signature minimalist colorways in the two lace options: one a solid color round woven lace and the other a two-toned round woven lace.

A Le Fleur* branded lace jewel and accompanying branding on the sockliner complete the aesthetic updates.

The welted lug bottom black outsole continues the marriage of utility and style and adds a performance element to the lifestyle boot.

Choose your player

If black or brown leather plays it too safe for your unique style, there are two more versions of the new boot from this collaborative effort.

The 1908 Bronco Boot in Pear Sorbet/Emperador is constructed with a premium canvas yellow upper, while the 1908 Bronco Boot in Aspen Green/Emperador is designed with an eye-catching suede green upper.
