At first glance, you might think the Eastport Handsewn Ranger Boot ($99) is another noble endeavor at the handsewn moc. Look a little further though and you’ll see this boot is not only a fine combination of Native American character and American panache, but one with outstanding appointments as well, including: premium handsewn leather, eight pairs of gold eyelets, and yellow-orange boot laces. Not a minute too late for Fall, L.L. Bean asked us to try a pair — and a couple of months in we’re total believers. Typically, Ranger boots require a break-in period, but here, the process is effectively nonexistent; instead, the boot persists feeling only finer with time and wear. Our only problem is its price. Sub $100 for a boot with this much meticulousness seems downright culpable. Not that we’re complaining.
