Jaybird announced the next generation of their highly lauded X2 wireless sport headphones: the X3. Like their predecessors, the X3 buds don’t require a headphone jack and are sweatproof. But their enhanced 6mm drivers mean bigger, better sound. And because they are smaller (albeit slightly), they’re the first Jay-Bird X-Series headphones to be compatible with helmets. Additionally, the X3s boast a longer battery life, now 8 hours, and a redesigned, “flatter” antenna in the mic. This design, according to a rep from Jaybird, gives the X3s a longer range than the traditional 30+ feet that Bluetooth allows.
Like other Jaybird wireless headphones, the X3s work with the MySound app, which is free and available on iOS and Android. They cost $130 and come in four colorways with metal accents: Blackout (black and silver), Sparta (white and gold), Alpha (military green and dark chrome) and Road Rash (red and dark chrome).
And if you’re looking for a deal, the X2 headphones just dropped to $80.
