Samsung’s New 4K TV Is Ludicrously Stunning

Just look at it.

In the last few years, Samsung seems to have consistently gone big on TVs at CES. Last year, if you remember, it was The Wall TV, which was a gigantic 146-inch modular MicroLED TV that took up an entire wall. (Granted the wall had to be big enough to fit it.) This year, they outdid themselves even further: they created a gorgeous new MicroLED TV that now delivers 4K resolution.

If you don’t know what MicroLED technology is, it’s basically Samsung’s answer to LG’s OLED. A MicroLED TV is made up of millions of MicroLED chips and an OLED TV is made up of millions of OLED chips. Each chip is able to emit its own light, so they TVs don’t need to be backlit, and thus both MicroLED TVs and OLED TVs are able to deliver brighter brights and darker darks (thus better contrast ratios), as well as more vibrant colors. They’re just all-around better (and more expensive) TVs. The absence of a backlight display panel means that both TVs can be thinner and (usually) lighter, too.

The new Samsung 75-inch MicroLED 4K TV — not a great name, admittedly — it the next generation of Samsung’s MicroLED display. And as mentioned before, it’s the first one to deliver stunning 4K resolution. It’s obviously not as big as last year’s gargantuan 146-inch TV, but the smaller size now delivers a 4K picture. It’s also small enough that most people will be able to fit in their house.

No news on pricing or availability just year. We’ll update this post when we know more.
