If you’re looking for a case that will both protect and charge your smartphone, you really want a Mophie. Its line of Juice Pack battery cases is far and away the best you can buy. At CES 2019, the company is releasing a brand new model, the Juice Pack Access, that’s different from any other battery case it’s made before.
Instead of covering up the phone’s Lighting port, the Juice Pack Access leaves it exposed so you can still use your wired headphones with the case. Mophie’s previous Juice Pack Air case covered up the Lighting port, forcing users to use Bluetooth headphones. For some, this was a big inconvenience.
The Juice Pack Access is available in sizes that’ll fit Apple’s entire new lineup: iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. There’s a model that’ll fit last year’s iPhone X, too. It’s important to note that the Juice Pack Access can’t charge itself using a cord. It depends on Qi-wireless charging to both charge itself and, in turn, to charge your iPhone. Basically, if you’re getting this new Mophie, you really need to be “living that wireless life” and have a wireless charging pad or stand of your own.
Even though the batteries on the newest iPhones are pretty good, the Juice Pack Access makes them way better. It adds 25 hours of total talk time for those using the iPhone X or iPhone XS, and up to 31 hours for those using the iPhone XR or iPhone XS Max. The Juice Pack Access will also add a bit of drop protection.
The case will be available in Q1 of this year for $120. It’ll come in several color options including black, stone, gold and dark red for the iPhone X/XS/XS Max, and black, blue and red for the iPhone XR.
