Keychron’s slim, minimal keyboard managed to earn $300,000 in Kickstarter funding back in October (the original goal was $10,000). Now you can actually buy one.
The K1 is mechanical, wireless and 18mm thick. That combination is unique to a keyboard designed specifically for Mac (there’s a Windows version, too). The board itself is built with blue switches (the extra-loud ones) and an aluminum body, so it’s not going to feel chintzy on a desk next to Apple gear.
The Keychron K1 comes in space grey or black and in 87- or 104-key options. It also starts at $84, which is just under Apple’s own Magic keyboard.
