Mophie just released a neat little travel gadget called the powerstation Hub ($100). Technically, it’s a 3-in-1 device. It’s a portable power bank. It’s a wall adapter. And it’s a wireless charging pad. All rolled into one.
Let’s break it down. The powerstation Hub is a 6,100mAh portable power bank that also comes with built-in foldable AC prongs. This means you’re able to charge it by plugging it directly into the wall — no charging cables required. The prongs also allow you to use it as a traditional wall adapter to charge your other devices.
The powerstation Hub has three USB ports (including one USB-C with Power Delivery) and even features a wireless charging pad; you can wirelessly charge your smartphone without needing any charging cables.
The only real downside that I can see is that it can only output 25 watts of power so, even though it has Power Delivery (PD) and can fast charge some of your devices, it won’t be able to charge your laptop; a minimum 45-watt output is required to charge most lightweight laptops, like a MacBook Air.
It should be noted that if you’re looking for a similar-but-more-affordable gadget, check out the Anker PowerCore Fusion ($26+). It’s not quite as large (capacity) or as powerful, but it’s still a useful 2-in-1 travel gadget.
