A welcome trend in the watch industry over the past several years is a general proliferation of vibrant dial colors, and an interesting offshoot of that is watches with rainbow motifs. Known for its use of color and design, German brand Nomos has announced a new collaboration with Cool Hunting celebrating LGBTQI+ Pride with six watches that together represent the movement's representative rainbow flag.
Taking the form of the Nomos Club Campus watches, each has an "all-gender" sized 38.5mm case and the brand's manually wound in-house Alpha movement inside. The Club Campus collection is intended for a youthful audience, and the colorful dials feature a mixture of Arabic and Roman numerals; when used together like so, they are referred to as "California" dials. Each of the models is named for something its color represents: Life (red), Sunlight (yellow), Serenity (blue), Healing (orange), Nature (green) and Spirit (violet).
In addition to raising awareness of associated issues, $100 from each sale of a Nomos x Cool Hunting Club Campus 38 Pride Watch will be donated to the suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people, the Trevor Project. Only 22 examples of each dial color will be made, and each will have a price of $1,650 on a textile strap available directly from Nomos.
