This beautiful, hand-winding watch is a throwback to the ’30s and ’40s.

Verdict: Tissot is a brand that makes so many different watches that the gems often get lost in the fray — especially many of its vintage-inspired heritage watches. Case in point: last year’s Tissot Heritage Chronograph. Despite this fact, Tissot’s pieces have excellent design and great movements for the money. Add to that the new Tissot Antimagnetique Heritage 2018.

The watch is based on the Antimagnetiques of the 1930s and ’40s, the first wristwatches in the world to be considered anti-magnetic — more specifically, the design is based on a version of the Antimagnetique made in 1943. This watch takes on a similar look with early-mid-century numerals and a clean, brushed dial with a small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock, not to mention a box sapphire crystal (usually a staple on more expensive vintage reissue watches). Visible through the back is a Unitas 6498 hand-winding movement, complete with finishing touches like blued screws and Geneva stripes.

Who It’s For: This being a classic design, it leans more towards the dressy side of things. At $995, it’s pretty affordable, so it will also appeal to newbie collectors, too.
