Building on an incredibly fruitful relationship between Timex and Todd Snyder, the two brands’ latest collaboration, the Beekman, is a time-only watch that “brings together two things I really love: classic cars and classic timepieces,” says Todd Snyder.
The Beekman, available in two colorways, is inspired by a mid-century Timex watch that Snyder discovered while combing through the brand’s archives. Using the dial’s tachymeter scale and by manipulating the crown, the user can measure the speed at which an object (such as a car) is moving over a pre-determined course. While this complication was classically employed on mid-century chronographs, it’s put to use here on an affordable, quartz time-only watch that is 40mm wide with a 20mm lug width and features a stainless steel case, acrylic domed crystal, quick-release spring bars, INDIGLO Night-Light, and 30m of water resistance.
The watch is available in a classic cream dial with a brown croco-pattern leather strap and a black dial with a tonal black leather strap, both priced at $158.
