Mido’s newest diver, the Ocean Star 600, is a professional diving timepiece through and through. In accordance with ISO 6425 specs, it’s water-resistant down to 60 bar (600 meters) and incorporates a helium escape valve. The bezel features engraved, Super Lumi-Nova Grade X-filled numerals and must be pushed down by the user in order to turn.
The movement employed in the Ocean Star 600 is the Calibre 80 Si, a COSC-certified chronometer version of Mido’s Calibre 80 that incorporates a silicon balance spring and a power reserve of 80 hours, not to mention increased shock resistance for use in tough environments.
The watch is available in either a stainless steel or black DLC-coated 43.5mm case, the steel version shipping on a steel bracelet, and the DLC version on a matching rubber strap. The price on either version is $1,700.
