What do you get when you mix mezcal, George Clooney, diving, and luxury watches? This could, hypothetically, go in a number of directions, but the cocktail du jour is a new Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black GMT Casamigos dive watch from Omega. Clooney ties it all together as a longtime Omega brand ambassador as well as co-founder of the tequila and mezcal brand Casamigos that lends its teal branding to the highlights of this otherwise serious-looking, pitch black special edition dive watch.
Aside from some restrained branding, this version shares most of its specs with existing Planet Ocean Deep Black watches, with a 45.5mm-wide black ceramic case (which should help keep this boldly sized watch light on the wrist but scratch-free) and 600m of water resistance. Inside, it’s powered by the Master Chronometer-certified Omega 8906 automatic GMT movement with 60 hours of power reserve, a Co-Axial escapement, 15,000 gauss of anti-magnetism, and accuracy of 0 to +5 seconds per day. It’s also very nicely decorated, but the display case back found on other versions is replaced here with a solid one featuring the Casamigos logo.
Limited to only 80 examples, the Omega Seamster Planet Ocean “Deep Black” GMT Casamigos watch has a price of $11,600.
