Based in Austin, Texas, Tockr makes watches conceived around the theme of military aviation, and its newest timepiece is its simplest, and possibly most attractive, yet. Called the Skytrain, the watch offers a sporty but straightforward design with some personality provided by details like the crosshair dial and seconds hand tipped with the shape of an airplane. It also offers a Swiss Made designation and all the specs enthusiasts demand.
The Skytrain’s 42mm case, available in three different dial colors, is around 13mm thick with a tonneau-like shape and water-resistance to 50 meters, topped with scratch-proof sapphire crystal. A fun touch: the airplane tip of the seconds hand is lumed, along with the hands and indices. The sweeping seconds hand provided by the ETA-2834-A6 Swiss automatic movement (which offers 42 hours of power reserve) will make the airplane appear to be aviating around the dial. The Skytrain name refers to the nickname given to the C-47 aircraft the flown in WW2 by the founder’s grandfather.
The Tockr Skytrain is available now directly from the Tockr website. As an introductory offer, the Skytrain will have a price of $950 until July 4, 2019, after which its full price will be $1,200.
