It still says Rolex on the dial, but just about everything about this Rolex Daytona chronograph watch has been altered. That is what the brand MAD Paris does, with various models of Rolex watches as well as other high-end brands like Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe. The trick for aftermarket customization using well-known models like this is to stand out as something unique while remaining recognizable.
Underlying the aesthetic changes is the Rolex Daytona’s 40mm Oystersteel case and a Rolex in-house 4130 automatic movement. The basic configuration is intact, but the case and bracelet are DLC-coated a matte black, and the Rolex Daytona bezel with its familiar tachymeter scale is replaced with contrastingly blingy black sapphires all around. The dial, too, is totally reworked, now more stark without a minutes/seconds scale but adding minty blue highlights including the Rolex crown logo. Finally, the standard solid case back of the Daytona is replaced here with a display window encircled with MAD Paris branding.
Price for this MAD Paris Rolex Daytona is $47,049 and it is available (in very limited quantities) from fashion retailer Browns.
