The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical was one of the coolest releases of 2018. Military-inspired, mechanical, robust and less than $500, there was a ton to like about the original watch, and not very much to complain about. More recently, the watch was released in a slew of new colors, but an all-black model remained elusive.
(Cue timpani:) Until now. Currently exclusive to HODINKEE’s web store is the new, blacked-out version of the KFM for $545. Featuring a matte-black PVD version of the original 38mm case, a black dial and a matching strap, it boasts “old radium”-style lume and the handwound H-50 movement with an impressive 80 hours of power reserve.
Perfectly proportioned, comfortable as hell and utterly badass looking, the new all-black colorway completes a lineup of one of the best watches releases this decade.
