Oris’ 80th Anniversary version of their Big Crown Pointer Date was beautiful, but it could be argued that the green dial was an acquired taste. Now, the brand’s newest version of their acclaimed flagship watch has been given a special upgrade in the form of a bronze dial, each of which is chemically treated with a transparent matte lacquer for a finish that’s unique to the individual watch, making for a timepiece that’s easier to wear and especially beautiful.

Special dial finishing aside, the new Big Crown Bronze Pointer Date is largely the same as its predecessor from November 2018, with a 40mm bronze case with fluted bezel, screw-down crown, pointer date complication, Super-LumiNova-coated cathedral hands and indices, automatic movement with hacking, sapphire crystal with AR coating and 50m of water resistance. For this edition, the watch is accompanied by a brown chamois deer leather strap with bronze buckle, with compliments the beautiful dial, and a special travel pouch.

The new Big Crown Bronze Pointer Date is available now for $2,000 from Oris.
