When Doxa introduced its newest tribute to prolific author Clive Cussler in July 2025, fans of the legendary dive watch brand knew it had to be hinting at something more.
As cool and on-brand as the special edition dial and engraved caseback were, the most intriguing detail was the case height.

When Doxa debuted the SUB 750T in 2002, the most water pressure-resistant addition to the SUB series had a 14mm thick case. Combined with the 45mm width and 47mm lug-to-lug, it was a real wrist eater.
At the time, a stainless steel watch case had to be huge to achieve 750m water resistance, but horological engineering has come a long way in the past two decades.
Doxa’s SUB 750T Clive Cussler edition buried the lead that the ultra-capable diver has shed two millimeters of case height.

Two millimeters might not sound like much, but it can be felt on the wrist when measuring a watch case. It means less weight and a smaller protrusion from the wrist to get snagged.
