Since 2020, Luminox has had a mutually beneficial partnership with the Navy SEAL Foundation, offering a collection of the brand’s best and most distinctive dive watches.

Now, six years into that fruitful relationship, these compatriots have come together once again for a new watch that stands out (in a manner of speaking) even among its siblings.

Not only is the Luminox Navy SEAL Foundation 3220.XS.3228.NSF one of the lineup’s stealthiest offerings, but it also boasts a relatively uncommon construction.

Under the cover of darkness

Of the nine watches in the Luminox Navy SEAL Foundation lineup, this new offering is undoubtedly one of the stealthiest. In fact, only one other timepiece even comes close.

The vast majority of this watch is completely blacked out, including its case, bezel and even strap. In fact, only the Luminox dial logo, numerals in the date window and Luminox Light Technology tubes aren’t entirely black.

However, that’s not just a simple colorway choice. It’s reflected in the watch’s construction.

The case, bezel and strap are all crafted from IP Gun stainless steel. That means, along with granting it a black colorway, it also enhances the steel’s natural durability and toughness.

To further increase its overall stealth, while also boosting its readability, it also has an antireflective sapphire crystal above its dial.

A different kind of SEAL

That full stainless steel construction also sets this watch apart, in tandem with its stealthiness. Like the colorway, there’s only one other watch that shares the same construction (the rest have Carbonox cases and bezels).

That said, this watch still very much fits in beside its siblings otherwise. For instance, it retains the same Swiss-made quartz movement shared by the other watches in the lineup. It’s a classic, beloved for its reliability and dependability.

It’s also a true dive watch, as noted by its dive timer bezel and depth rating of 200 meters. This isn’t just a showpiece; it’s a watch you can put through its paces.

It is worth noting that its unique construction and finish do make it the most expensive watch in the collection. That said, it’s still relatively affordable compared to other similarly-performing divers from other brands.
