Back in May of this year, Timex launched a sophisticated new addition to its beloved Q lineup. Called the Q Timex Continental GMT, my colleague who wrote about it surmised that this travel watch could supplant the Q Timex Reissue as the brand’s best new watch.
Well, the latest drop in that series inches it closer to fulfilling that prophecy. A measure sleeker and more refined than its predecessor, the Q Timex Continental Day and Date was designed to hearken to the glory days of ‘70s West Hollywood.
That said, discerning watch fanatics might notice that it perhaps borrows more from a different source: the beloved IWC Ingenieur (not that this is a bad thing.)

Positively cosmopolitan
The base watch is the same overall design as the GMT take that came before it, which is a very good thing. Most notably, that means it retains its highly wearable 39-millimeter case size.
It also means the watch retains one of its best overall features: a sporty, tapered integrated bracelet, which goes a long way toward capturing the timepiece’s intended retro flair.
