By now, the Black Bay 58 needs little introduction.

Released in 2018, Tudor’s present flagship brought a 39mm case and faux-patina gilt indices to the brand’s Black Bay lineup.

It was an instant hit, quickly winning over enthusiasts that celebrated its smaller case size, modern movement and vintage cues.

In that light, the new version of the Black Bay 58 released in 2026 at Watches and Wonders Geneva feels like the grand crescendo of an overture.

Down is up

At a glance, the new Black Bay 58 looks like the same watch that arrived nearly a decade ago.

The case still measures 39mm and the overall color scheme remains intact.

The case remains 39mm but slims down from 11.9mm to 11.7mm.

However, a series of subtle updates, ranging from slimmer hands (modeled after Tudor’s first dive watches) to a redesigned screw-down crown, result in the most refined version of the Black Bay 58 yet.

That theme carries over to the dial, where the lines of text shrink down from three to two, while a matte finish gives the watch a more purposeful air of quiet elegance.

Finally, a drop in thickness from 11.9mm to 11.7mm, improves the wearability of what was already one of the market’s best-proportioned dive watches at any budget.

Chrono master

The other change is less obvious off the wrist, but it has a bigger impact on the Black Bay 58 legacy in the longterm.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s burgundy model, the standard Black Bay 58 now features Tudor’s MT5400-U caliber.

Equipped with the a silicone hairspring, the watch features a longer power reserve and improved resistance against magnetism, as well as better water resistance thanks to a modified crown that now sits flush against the central case.

All those factors contribute to its new METAS Master Chronometer certification, in addition to COSC, with an accuracy of 0/+5 seconds per day.

Availability and pricing

While the slimmed-down case and upgraded movement would have been enough to win over longtime enthusiasts of the watch, Tudor didn’t stop there.
