Would you believe it? The Jeep Twelve 4 Twelve program is now in the home stretch. The brand has just unveiled the ninth installment in its series of monthly celebratory Wrangler releases.
Thankfully, it’s a good one this go-round, as Jeep has opted to revive the Laredo name for the first time in quite a while. The trim debuted on the CJ platform in the early ‘80s, and it even survived into the start of Wrangler production until the brand pulled it from the lineup.
StellantisIn any case, it’s not just any old paint and equipment package. Back in the day, Jeep introduced the Laredo to give drivers a little extra refinement with some western-flavored flair, and it’s taken a similar approach with its modern tribute.
The most notable addition is easily the return of the brand’s distinctive tan soft-top, but Jeep’s treatment extends inside and out. Along with Bison Brown leather upholstery and gold-colored interior stitching, the new Laredo brings unique decals, earth-toned accents and bronze beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich K02 tires.
Of course, being a Laredo, it’s packed with cowboy culture. Beyond the lasso-style 4WD decal, you’ll find other subtle references like a cowboy hat motif in the HVAC pad prints.
