One of Honda’s Most Innovative and Rider-Friendly Motos Gets Even More Compelling

The bike adds fresh looks to an already convincing combo of progressive features, not to mention a nice price.

Proving the old adage, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” Honda has updated one of its most versatile, capable and interesting motorcycles with a focus on aesthetics.

The 2027 NC750X headlines the brand’s first round of new model year color tweaks, alongside the X-ADV and Forza 750.

The unique adventuring touring bike already boasts a number of handy features, such that there’s little need for improvement.

Yet I dare say it’s an even more tempting proposition courtesy of Matte Deep Mud Grey and Glint Wave Blue Metallic.

Made in the shades

Up front, I should say the new NC750X was just announced for the UK market; a similar stateside release should follow in the coming weeks, but there’s no guarantee we will get the exact same colors.

I sure hope we do, because if there’s one thing that could hugely improve the US edition, it is the hue.

We currently only get a Stormtrooper-esque Matte Pearl White, so these new paint schemes, especially the splashy blue, would be a good looks godsend. 

Everything else that makes the bike so compelling carries over, including its most distinctive trait: right behind the bars, a lockable 23-liter frunk offers enough space to store most full-faced helmets, plus other essentials.

The frunk may just be the happy byproduct of another cool feature: the placement of the fuel tank under the seat, which lowers the center of gravity, boosting stability and rider confidence at speed, during tighter turns and even simply backing into a parking space.

Together with a 31.6-inch seat height and traction-boosting Honda Selectable Torque Control (HTSC), that makes this 497-pound beast a bit easier to handle.

A more common rider-friendly feature here is Honda’s automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), which requires no shifting at all. 

While I personally would love to see a manual option (which is available overseas, where people still actually drive stick shift cars), I totally understand the appeal for less experienced riders.

Meanwhile, just about anyone can appreciate the NC750X’s engine, a 745cc liquid-cooled four-stroke boasting generous low- to mid-range torque and four ride modes (three defaults plus a custom option), letting you rip around on this bike just how you like.

Availability and pricing

The 2027 Honda NC750X rolls into the UK marketplace at a starting price of £7,599, which roughly converts to $10,100 USD.

Based on existing Honda release patterns, I can see it making its way stateside later this year (hopefully with both new colorways) for just under $10,000.
