Glashütte Original’s Highly Underrated Dive Watch Continues Swatch Group’s Coolest Trend

Someone at the Swatch Group seems to have an infatuation with turquoise dégradé dials.

It all started when Omega launched a version of the Seamaster Aqua Terra with a lacquered turquoise dégradé dial at the tail-end of 2024. The watch’s brilliant color and gradient-effect dial proved extremely popular, and Omega followed it up in summer 2025 with two new Aqua Terra references featuring black ceramic bezels.

Next, it was sister brand Longines’ turn. It dropped a limited-edition Commonwealth Games-themed turquoise dégradé version of its new HydroConquest dive watch in May of this year, and in my humble opinion, it’s the best version of the acclaimed diver you can buy.

Now, it’s time for Swatch Group’s top German watchmaker, Glashütte Original, to debut its own take on a turquoise dégradé sports watch with a pair of limited-edition SeaQ divers.

Putting the “Q” in turquoise

GO calls its take on turquoise Northern Tide, and the colorway is exclusive to North America. The style is available in the two date variants of the SeaQ dive watch.

First is the standard SeaQ, which features a traditional white date window at 3:00 and a 39.5mm stainless steel case. Next is the SeaQ Panorama Date, whose claim to fame is an oversized two-disc date display with white text on a black background at 4:00. This version’s steel case is also quite a bit larger at 43.2mm in diameter.

To illustrate the notable size difference between the two versions, GO’s marketing campaign for the watch sees the Panorama Date modeled by a man and the standard SeaQ on the wrist of a woman. Of course, both watches can be considered unisex, though the Panorama Date requires a pretty big wrist to pull off convincingly.

With their different date complications, the two watches are of course powered by different in-house automatic movements. The SeaQ gets the Calibre 39-11, which has a power reserve of 40 hours and is fairly basic as far as GO movements go. The Panorama Date’s Cal. 36-13 is a decidedly more premium engine, with a 100-hour power reserve, an amagnetic silicon balance spring and a 21-carat gold rotor.

Both models share all other specs, which include sapphire crystals front and back, a black ceramic bezel insert, applied indices and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, and two strap options in the box: a three-row stainless steel bracelet with a microadjustable clasp and a black textile strap with a steel deployant clasp.

Each of the two watches is 300m water-resistant and meets both the international ISO 6425 and German DIN 8306 diver’s watch standards, making them true professional dive watches.

Availability and pricing

I’ve previously referred to the SeaQ as the industry’s most underrated dive watch, with its movement quality, level of finishing, and legitimate diver’s watch prowess enabling it to go toe-to-toe with any luxury diver in the industry.

And with this new Swatch Group-approved turquoise dégradé dial, I think the watch looks better than ever.

The downside is that not many will get to experience the SeaQ Northern Tide in person. In addition to the watches being limited to the North American market, both references are limited to just 100 pieces each.

Available now from Glashütte Original, the standard SeaQ is priced at $13,000, while the Panorama Date is listed at $15,000.
