Heading into August, Bose is running a pretty big sale on some of its best portable Bluetooth speakers, noise-canceling headphones and wireless earbuds. You can save up to 30 percent.

Welcome to Shop Smarter: A series dedicated to highlighting not just what’s on sale, but why it’s worth owning. Discover more here.

Some of the standouts include Bose’s SoundLink Home. It’s the brand’s first Bluetooth speaker with a retro-style design, made of fabric and metal, and it’s incredibly easy to use. There’s no app to download. There aren’t any advanced controls to learn.

Also included in the sale is Bose’s current flagship noise-canceling headphones: the QuietComfort Ultra (2nd-Gen). They don’t often go on sale, but you can snag a pair for $50 off right now. They’re available in several different colors.

Lastly, Bose’s best-in-class workout earbuds with an open design, the Ultra Open Earbuds, are also on sale.

But those are just some of the highlights (which we’ve spotlighted below). The sale has numerous other Bose products, including some of its streaming amplifiers and Dolby Atmos soundbars, discounted.

Bose SoundLink Home

The Bose SoundLink Home is a portable Bluetooth speaker that looks old school thanks to a metal body and fabric grille. It lacks any app compatibility, so it should be straightforward to use. And, as it doesn’t have a water-resistance rating, it’s meant predominantly to be listened to indoors. It normally costs $179 (at launch, it was $219) and is available in three finishes: silver, grey or warm wood.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)

Bose’s flagship over-ear headphones pack the brand’s best-in-class active noise cancellation across four modes — Quiet, Aware, Immersion and Cinema — alongside spatial audio that externalizes sound for a more natural listen. CustomTune technology analyzes your ear’s shape to personalize audio performance, while up to 30 hours of battery life and plush earcups paired with a pressure-distributing headband make it a natural choice for frequent flyers and long-haul commuters alike.

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds

As their name gives away, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are open-ear wireless earbuds, meant to allow you to listen to music while also hearing the world around you. Their standout feature is a unique approach to fit: Rather than going in your ears, they clip to the outside of them, sort of like earrings.
