Citizen is one of the world’s largest watch manufacturers, covering every category across every price tier. That scale allows the Japanese brand to offer some of the best bargains in the game, with collections such as the Tsuyosa, Promaster Dive and Series 8 offered at prices that are nearly impossible to beat.

Don’t confuse affordability with a lack of quality, because Citizen also makes some of the best dive, dress and sport watches out there. Its vast resources also enable novel, outside-the-box designs like this year’s Honda and FamilyMart collaborations.

Joining the update is a new white dial with an orange seconds hand and black bezel insert, placed on an olive green rubber strap.

Citizen Tsuyosa 60 37mm

The two best versions of the Tsuyosa finally come together for the first time in a 37mm case with the Caliber 8310 automatic movement, packing an improved 60-hour power reserve. Unfortunately, it debuts with only one color option: a full gold-tone case and bracelet with a textured white dial. If this is a soft launch of a new line, it will be the best version of the Tsuyosa yet.

Citizen x Hypebeast Zenshin Three-Hand

For its latest Eco-Drive 50th-anniversary release, Citizen collaborates with Hypebeast for its own 20-year celebration. The hype blog helps transform the watchmaker’s Zenshin integrated titanium sports watch into a monochromatic masterpiece with the “most extensive application of Duratect Platinum” in the watch range so far. The matching silver-tone dial completes the minimalist aesthetic, with a subtle “20” numeral where the 4 should be.

Citizen Promaster WaveTracker

Citizen’s Promaster series is perhaps best known for its dive watches, but the lineup actually encompasses numerous other categories of adventure-ready watches. Take the latest addition, for example. The WaveTracker blends elements of a dive watch, field watch, driving watch and more. Once you know it was created for yacht racing, that all makes perfect sense. However, those elements also make it a formidable generalist all-around outdoor adventure watch, as well. And since its solar-powered, it’s also incredibly convenient.

Citizen adds a black-and-gilt color scheme to the Tsuyosa Shore, featuring rose-gold-tone plating on the hands and hour markers, along with matching printing on the dash minutes track and bezel track. The grainy-textured black dial has a fumé fade. The 40mm stainless steel case comes on an integrated three-link President-style bracelet. It is a limited edition of 12,000 pieces, available in August.

If you’re more interested in some of the Royal Oak’s more extreme variations, namely the Offshore Diver, then you simply won’t find a better affordable option than Citizen’s dive-ready take on its Series8 integrated sports watch. Featuring an octagonal bezel, a waffle-textured dial with bold, applied maxi-style indices, an integrated rubber strap and a rotating internal bezel operated via a second crown, this Japanese dive watch sure isn’t hiding its design inspiration.

Citizen Endeavor Chrono

Part of Citizen’s Eco-Drive 50th anniversary collection, the new Endeavor Chrono is a 43mm nautical chronograph with 100m water resistance and a sporty look. The Caliber B620 solar-quartz movement features a typical jumping seconds hand at 6:00, but the chronograph seconds hand has a smooth sweep to measure down to 1/5th of a second, and maxed out at one hour and one minute with a 60-minute totalizer at 9:00. The wavy ocean-inspired dial texture allows light to reach the photovoltaic cells powering the movement.

Citizen Promaster Land GMT Navy

A few weeks ago, Citizen quietly dropped an affordable, user-friendly GMT watch, which quickly turned out to be a sleeper hit. Now, the brand has returned to that release and launched a new version, this time with a navy blue dial, instead of a red one. It still boasts the same styling and functionality — including its reliable Eco-Drive solar-powered movement — but its link bracelet has been swapped for a sportier nylon version. And the price of this already budget-friendly watch has dropped by a respectable $70.
