Kiwame Yokyo is easily Japan’s most celebrated new independent watchmaker, known for blending classical watch design with Tokyo’s traditional architecture.
However, one complaint that has surfaced repeatedly in comment sections and online discussions is the similarity seen in every release since the brand debuted in 2025. That sentiment is blown away with the completely new Yane collection, featuring an Art Deco-inspired rectangular case and a two-hand lacquered dial.

Vintage watch fans will notice a resemblance to the JLC Reverso in the silhouette of the stainless steel case, which measures 26.5mm wide by 44mm lug-to-lug. But the nuanced shape of the case distinguishes it as a novel design.
One aspect that the Yane carries over from all previous Kiwame Tokyo releases is a reflection of Tokyo’s classical architecture. This time, founder and designer Masami Watanabe drew inspiration from the sloping rooftops of Asakusa’s Senso-ji Buddhist temple.

Inside the case is an elegantly minimalist dial, featuring a lacquered plate available in black or burgundy, each paired with a matching leather strap. Two stick hands at the center are joined by the brand’s mune logo applied at 12:00.
