Parisian independent watchmaker Serica is contributing to Time and Tide’s Founder Fest 2026 with a gorgeous dial revamp for the Ref. 7505 field watch.

Inspired by the sunburst lacquer on vintage guitars, made famous by brands like Fender and Gibson in the 1950s, it fades from a warm brown center to a black outer rim.

Serica introduced the Ref. 7505 back in May 2026, scaling down the popular Ref. 6190 with a 35mm stainless steel case, punctuated with a broad fixed bezel featuring a brushed top, a polished chamfer and four hemispherical studs.

Along with the sunburst color scheme, Serica’s Time and Tide Studio Edition presents a new dial arrangement for the Ref. 7505. A classic triangle-dot-dash dive watch hour marker set is executed with faceted applied indices, encircled by a dash minutes track.

The nominal feature of the Ref. 7505 Sunburst is the enamel dial. Its warm brown fade is achieved through layers of enamel, creating a richness to the texture that engages with the light.

It’s right on time

Serica’s stainless steel case, topped with a double-domed sapphire crystal and providing 200m water resistance, is impressive. As are the brushed hands and polished hour markers fitted with Super-LumiNova.

But the feature that makes the Ref. 7505 an incredible bargain is the COSC-certified Soprod Caliber M100 automatic movement, which beats at 4Hz and packs a 42-hour power reserve.

Carry that weight

I’ve had the pleasure of wearing several Serica watches, and the feature that always catches me off guard when I put one on is the Bonklip bracelet. Composed of stainless steel tubes connecting elongated stainless steel rings, it feels lighter on the wrist than a nylon strap.

Availability and price

Serica was already my favorite young, independent watch brand, and the Ref. 7505 Sunburst just reaffirms that choice.

As part of Time and Tide’s Founder Fest 2026, it will be available exclusively from Time and Tide for $1,625 during a 24-hour purchase window on September 22, or in person at one of Time and Tide’s three global Studios in Melbourne, London and New York City on September 19 and 20.
