G-Shock Just Gave the CasiOak a Durable (and Rare) Design Detail

The GA-2100 may be G-Shock’s most refined watch. But looks can be deceiving, especially with the addition of this classic Casio flourish.

In G-Shock land, “tough” and “durable” are table stakes, even when it comes to the brand’s most refined model.

The GA-2100 might be called the “CasiOak” for its visual similarities to one very famous, very high-end sports watch. However, looks can be deceiving.

The standard version boasts a carbon-reinforced resin case, shock-resistant interior and 200 meters of water resistance.

Now, thanks to the cosign of Action Bronson, it can add bull bars to the list.

The American rapper and television personality took to social media to tease his forthcoming collaboration with Casio, one that sees the GA-2100 adopt the classic G-Shock flourish.

Bull by the horns

Dubbed “Desert King,” the variant features several other distinctive features beyond the bull bars.

These include a translucent brown bezel, red-tinted LCD display (as seen on the Black and Bold Red Collection), cobranded caseback and black dial that features a spherical grid pattern, along with the word “Baklava” — one of Bronson’s nicknames.

That said, G-Shock collectors will appreciate the addition of the bull bars the most.

The protective wires date back to the earliest days of the Casio sub-brand. However, they’ve remained exceptionally rare for the GA-2100 since the series debuted in 2019.

Only the GA-2100PT-2A and GA-2100PTS-8A, both released as part of the 2023 Protector Pack, came with the extra dose of durability.

According to Bronson’s Instagram, the new watch will be available from August 21, exclusively from his website Specializing in Life.

Pricing has yet to be revealed, but it will likely do little to affect the watch’s success — with Bronson’s involvement, the watch’s appeal with reach far and wide.
