‘Call of Duty’s’ In-Game Take on the Definitive Field Watch Makes Its Real-Life Debut

The Hamilton Khaki Field is as iconic as they come. This affordable auto edition is pulled right from the long-running video game franchise.

Approaching 500 million sales (which translates to more than $30 billion in revenue), Call of Duty is undoubtedly one of the most successful and popular video game franchises of all time. While the military FPS has had its ups and downs — and an increasingly goofy slate of features — some elements have remained thankfully realistic.

The inclusion of the Hamilton Khaki field watch is one such element. Having made appearances in Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 (to name a few), this iconic watch has, in-game, largely remained faithful to its real-life counterparts.

Now, the franchise is turning that realism on its head in the best way possible with the Call of Duty x Hamilton Special Edition Khaki Field Auto.

Not playing any games

This take on the Hamilton Khaki is a real-life version of the special in-game field watch from Black Ops 7. That means there’s no difference between the one you see here and the one worn on the characters’ wrists in the video game.

While that could have very easily made for some over-the-top detailing or ostentatious branding, the devs (likely firmly ushered by Hamilton) kept things thankfully subtle. In fact, the only branding is found on the caseback; there’s no labeling on the front of the watch whatsoever.

The watch has silver-tone hands with luminous fill, a red-tipped second hand, and a stainless steel case with a textured crown. The strap is olive green fabric.
Thank goodness this iconic watch’s face is free of co-branding.

While the caseback is admittedly quite loud — marked by an engraving of the Call of Duty insignia — the rest of the watch’s toned-down styling is a major boon for horological enthusiasts and Hamilton fans. In fact, the only other thing that gives the collab away is the special-edition packaging.

The rest of the watch remains true to something that Hamilton might offer on its own. In this case, that’s a very good thing.

The case back features an engraved design of three roaring animal heads and the text "CALL OF DUTY," "SPECIAL EDITION," "SWISS MADE," and "WATER RESISTANT 10BAR/145 psi." The watch has a green and brown striped fabric strap with leather accents. The background is dark with subtle red and blue lighting.

Military time

Even if you don’t care for Call of Duty, there are a lot of other elements to love about this watch. That starts with its 38-millimeter steel case, which is as rugged and classic as it is minimalist.

Beneath its dial — which boasts both 12- and 24-hour markers, as well as a date window at 3 o’clock — sits a Hamilton H-10 caliber. That means this is an automatic, complete with an 80-hour power reserve.

And the whole package is mated to a strap combining nylon webbing and leather details. Not knowing it’s a special-edition collaboration, it comes off as just another very solid, extremely good-looking field watch, as Hamilton Khaki Fields always are.

Perhaps most impressively, the watch is very affordable, priced at just $975 — right in line with other Khakis with similar features. The only catch might be that only 5,000 units are being made, and you’ll have to sign up with your email for a chance to get one.

The soldier is equipped with advanced tactical gear, including a chest rig with multiple pouches, a glowing green cylindrical device on the left shoulder, and a wrist-mounted digital display on the right arm. The gloves are black with orange accents, and the overall outfit combines military and sci-fi elements. The background is black, emphasizing the soldier's detailed equipment and armor.
While operator Vermaak looks like something out of science fiction, the Hamilton on his wrist is as real as they come.
