You’ve likely never seen a turntable quite like it.

Every year, Pro-Ject seems to add at least one new turntable to its Artist Series, which celebrates some of the most iconic musicians and artists of all time.

The popular Austrian hi-fi maker has, for example, released special-edition turntables for Metallica, The Beatles and, most recently, AC/DC (to name a few).

Now, it’s the King of Rock of Rock and Roll’s turn.

That’s right, Pro-Ject has added the Elvis Turntable to its Artist Series as a kind of celebration for what would’ve been the “Hound Dog” singer’s 90th birthday.

And, as you can see, it’s not a turntable that’s meant to blend in.

The integrated LEDs are designed on a legendary “ELVIS” light logo from one of the singer’s late light performances.

The Elvis Turntable features a CNC-machined plinth integrated with red LEDs that spell out the singer’s name in all caps. This design is based on the legendary “ELVIS” light logo, which was famously illuminated behind Presley during his 1968 NBC “Comeback Special.”

According to the brand, the turntable was designed to capture “the bold stage presence and electrifying atmosphere of one of his most unforgettable performances.”

As for the turntable itself, it’s based on Pro-Ject’s T2, which is one of the brand’s mid-range audiophile turntables that sells for $650.

The belt-drive turntable features a 9-inch aluminium tonearm, a high-mass platter and comes with a factory-fitted Sumiko Rainier cartridge. It supports the electronic playback of 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records.

Notably, the Elvis Turntable doesn’t have a built-in phono preamplifier or Wi-Fi streaming capabilities (Pro-Ject offers T2 models that have such integrated components).

Obviously, the Elvis Turntable isn’t designed for everybody — you have to be a real big Elvis fan and want a turntable that’s meant to be the focal point of your hi-fi system (and room).

At the time of writing, it’s unclear if the integrated LED lights are always on or can be turned off when the turntable is playing. I’m guessing it’s the latter.

Price and availability

If you’re interested in Pro-Ject’s Elvis Turntable, there’s a bit of a catch — Pro-Ject isn’t selling it. Instead, it’s being exclusively sold from the UK audio distributor Henley Audio … so you US fans are going to have a difficult time getting hold of one.

The Elvis Turntable is priced at £1,199 (approximately $1,600), which is more than twice the price of Pro-Ject’s standard T2 turntable.
