With its ties to Navy SEALs, Icelandic SAR teams and more, Luminox has inexorable connections to some of the most lauded and respected tactical organizations on the planet. So it should come as no surprise that the brand’s latest watch continues in that tradition.
However, the Luminox Recon Navigation Specialist 8830 Series is special, even among its siblings, for several reasons. This GMT timepiece was designed alongside Andrea Micheli, a former Swiss Army Military Security NCO and internationally recognized tactical specialist, with precision navigation in mind.

Not all who wander are lost
The 8830’s navigational prowess begins with its movement. Hidden inside its case, there’s a Ronda 515.24H Swiss quartz. Not only is this movement highly accurate, but it’s a GMT — meaning the watch can track two time zones at once.
But that’s just the start of it. Beyond its dual-time capabilities, the watch dial also has a bevy of markings that assist in precision navigation. Specifically, it’s equipped with a tachymeter bezel.
