While winter storms continue to rage across much of the country, spring is just around the corner — and with it, trail running season.

Accordingly, Salomon has updated its comfiest trail runner, delivering a more dynamic ride and improved temperature regulation while maintaining the out-of-the-box wearability that made the Ultra Glide a star in the first place.

Cooler than ever

The Ultra Glide model has already made a name for itself as Salomon’s most comfortable trail runner, which is really saying something when one considers the stacked lineup coming from the French outdoor equipment company.

The new Ultra Glide 4 retains the cushiony feel of its predecessors but cuts weight, improves durability and enhances breathability, making it a better shoe all around.

Running in the revamped Ultra Glide 4 will leave feet cooler than ever, thanks to its new engineered mesh upper, which alternates the weave pattern for more support in key areas and more breathability and flex in others — and improves water evacuation so feet dry quicker.

The upper also includes an internal fit sleeve, which is designed to hug the foot and lock in fit, without being overly compressive.

A generous amount of proprietary Optifoam cushioning makes each step more dynamic and supported.

Meanwhile, the wavy pattern on the traction-packed Contagrip outsoles keep steps stable and aids in pressure dispersion across the foot, simultaneously upping durability and minimizing impact.
