Last year, Onkyo launched the Creator Series, which consists of two powered desktop speakers, the GX-10DB ($199) and the larger GX-30ARC ($299). It was notable because they were the first speakers that the Japanese hi-fi maker had released in years.
Now, to celebrate the company’s 80th anniversary, Onkyo has revealed special-edition versions of both those speakers that pay homage to the brand’s classic bookshelf speakers from the 1980s.
Onkyo Creator Series (80th Anniversary Editions)

Walnut cabinets, silver trim
What makes these special-edition speakers unique is that they pay tribute to their legendary Onkyo D-200 bookshelf speakers (shown below), which were released in the late 1980s.
Each speaker has PVC walnut cabinetry, silver trim rings and textured black baffles that, according to the brand, give it “a classic, furniture-like appeal.”
