Right now, Audioengine is having a Memorial Day sale on some of its newest and best desktop speaker systems. In some cases, you can save over 30 percent. The deals run through May 26th or “while supplies last.”

So, what’s the catch? The deals are on “Open Box” or “Refurbished” models. These are speakers that have been used and returned by reviewers or customers.

Less interested? Don’t be. Each one has been “inspected, tested, and prepared” to meet the brand’s standards. So you’re essentially getting a great deal on speakers that work and look like new.

As far as the discounted products, the standouts are Audioengine’s A2+ Next Gen, HD3 Next Gen and HD4 Next Gen (listed from smallest to largest). We’ve highlighted the deals on each of these “Next Gen” speaker systems below.

Each is a powered speaker system that was released in 2025 (so just last year). And each comes in a variety of colors, so you can get a pair that matches your preferences.

Additionally, Audioengine has included its larger powered speaker systems, the A5+, in the sale. There are discounts on its powered subwoofers, headphone amplifiers and other hi-fi components, as well.

Update: Since the sale started, it appears that Audioengine’s two smallest desktop speakers, the A2+ Next Gen and the HD3 Next Gen, have sold out.

Audioengine HD3 Next Gen (Open Box)

The HD3 Next Gen is very similar to the A2+ Next Gen. In fact, they are the same size, have the same drivers and feature the same 60-watt power amplifier. The differences are that the HD3 Next Gen is available in more premium finishes, features detachable speaker grilles, and includes a dedicated headphone amplifier.

Audioengine HD4 Next Gen (Open Box)

The HD4 Next Gen looks and works exactly like their smaller sibling, the HD3 Next Gen. The difference is that they are substantially bigger and better-sounding speakers. They have 120-watt amplification (twice as powerful) and a larger woofer. Available in three different finishes: satin black, walnut or high-gloss piano white. (However, only the black models are in stock for the current open-box sale.)
