One could argue that boat shoes have never gone out of style, and while that may technically be true, the silhouette has undoubtedly seen a resurgence of popularity in the past year.

Vans has been on quite the heater lately turning out timeless silhouettes remixed in a very Off the Wall fashion, so it only makes sense that the footwear icon would release its own take on the classic nautical design.

The 2-Eyelet Boat Shoe, a revision of archival styles that was previously only available overseas, capitalizes on the trending shoe while remaining as classic as ever.

They’ve officially hit US shores, making this the ideal time to bring a little maritime style into your wardrobe.

Smooth sailing

Originally released as part of the Vans Japan Fall/Winter 2024 collection, the 2-Eyelet Boat Shoe takes inspiration from an older archival Vans silhouette, the Zapato Del Barco.

Now, the refined take on the classic boat shoe is available on the brand’s U.S. website and in stores, just in time for upcoming warmer weather.

The 2-Eyelet Boat Shoe is available with either a Black or Tan Brown leather upper that lends the shoe a smooth, durable finish.

The clean-lined, low-profile style utilizes a modern, 2-eye lace system for a dialed yet pared-back fit, while rawhide-style laces give the shoe just the right amount of edge and tactile interest.

Vans’s traditional vulcanized build and waffle sole make this undeniably an Off the Wall shoe without dominating its classic design. The result is a shoe that equally balances performance and good looks.

However, since there are no specifics on whether the shoe’s leather is water-resistant or not … maybe stick to shore in these.
