There’s no denying Converse’s status as a cultural icon; the Chuck Taylor All Star has been a staple for over 100 years, embraced by everyone from weightlifters to street style stars.

In 2025, Converse pushed its legendary silhouette into new territory with the inaugural First String Collection, elevating the All Star from top to bottom.

Now the brand is back for round two. The second installment of the First String Collection takes an even more premium-focused approach to one of the most enduring shoes of all time.

Take a walk on the wild side

The first installment of the luxury-minded First String Collection rethought almost every component on the Chuck Taylor All Star; in fact, the changes and materials were revolutionary enough to land it on the GP100 winner’s list.

The recently announced second installment seeks to build on that transformation with even more premium materials and color treatments.

Three versions are expected to debut on March 24th. They include a minimalist black and white option, built with high-grade leather on the upper, including the famous All Star patch.

The other two variants take style cues from the wild side; one is dressed in a white and grey snakeskin print, while the other features a croc treatment, a look that has been popping up across multiple new releases this season.

The croc treatment, as novel as it appears, is a growing micro-trend in footwear. It fits perfectly with the luxe approach of the First String collection.

Both animal print options feature black suede on the heelstay and off-white leather All Star patches.
