Among three fresh forbidden fruit treatments, one is so out there I can hardly believe it’s a production moto.

Cracking the motorcycle industry’s top 10 with 1.2 million units sold last year, Royal Enfield continues to prove that your bikes don’t have to be “big” for your brand to be.

After all, RE’s bread and butter is what they call midsize motos, with nameplates like the Bullet, Himalayan and now Guerrilla developing cult followings powered by 350cc and 450cc engines.

The latest headline maker for the brand is no different when it comes to engine size, but it is when it comes to looks.

Because while Royal Enfield is beloved for its classic aesthetics, the new crop of Hunter 350s includes one wildly avant-garde Moonshot, both literally and figuratively.

Fast facts

Before we jump into the new treatments, here’s a quick breakdown of the bike itself.

Rolled out just a few years ago in the summer of 2022, the Hunter 350 is one of the brand’s most approachable bikes and, in the US at least, its most affordable.

With a classic round headlight, mirrors and instrument cluster, plus analog switch cubes, a flat bar, teardrop tank and single-piece seat, the bike casually drips with stunning retro style.

It is also quite welcoming to less experienced riders, thanks to a seat height of 31.1 inches, narrow standover, low curb weight of 399 pounds and dual-channel ABS, which helps prevent locking up and fishtailing during sudden braking.

Yes, this blacked-out treatment is the most predictable. Would not surprise me if it’s the top seller of this trio.

Meanwhile, the 349cc single-cylinder engine makes 19.9 horsepower at 6100 rpm and 19.9 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm, which won’t crush the highway but is just right for spirited city and rural riding.

Throw in a super-inviting price point ($4,299 in the US), and it’s no huge surprise that the Hunter 350 quickly became the RE’s second-best-selling moto.

Spaced out

Perhaps that instant success has emboldened the brand to experiment, because while two of the Hunter 350s’ new paint schemes are pretty straightforward, Moonshot White is so funky, no one will believe you got this bike off the factory floor.

Both sides of the white tank feature a heavily stylized “350” plus small brand hits, wavy splashes of orange and blue, a very relaxed-looking astronaut and, why the hell not, a playful little jellyfish.

The Hunter 350 lettering on the side covers, meanwhile, looks like something you would doodle on your binder in 6th grade.

These adornments are particularly striking in light of the fact that the silhouette is just as classically styled as ever, boldly whipping old school and new school together into one heckuva fricassee.

Graphics aside, the bike itself is inviting AF to nearly all riders, regardless of size, gender or experience level.

Of course, if you like your boldness a little less funky, there’s always Mumbai Yellow and, if you prefer classic cool, there’s the timeless Tarmac Black.

If I am being completely honest, that last option is the one I’d probably be riding out of the dealership.

Availability and pricing

The three new Royal Enfield Hunter 350 paint schemes are currently only available in India, with prices starting at ₹ 1,49,900 (~$1,609 USD) for Tarmac Black and ₹ 1,69,804 (~$1,823 USD) for Mumbai Yellow and Moonshot White.

However, considering the fact that the standard Hunter 350 starts at $4,299 in the US, if these ever made their way to our shores, I would not be surprised if they topped $4,500.
