The first Ridgeline, introduced to the market in 2006, was an upstart: an affordable, V6-powered smaller-than-full-size pickup with funky styling. The new Ridgeline carries on that spirit: this is a progressive pickup, not one that’s made solely for fleet sales and construction duty. You could very easily live with the Ridgeline on a daily basis. For instance, its fuel economy numbers stretch into the high twenties, yet it’s still able to tow 5,000 pounds and its two-way tailgate opens to reveal a 64-inch bed. The Ridgeline is no Ford F-150; it’s aimed at smaller trucks like the Chevy Colorado — but this new generation is slightly larger than the outgoing model, sports more traditional styling and has decidedly non-truck-like driving behavior. It may not win points at the ranch, but if you’re a sensible utilitarian, the Ridgeline won’t disappoint.
