There’s no doubt: CDs are experiencing a boom.
According to the Luminate 2026 Midyear Report, CD sales in the US have increased by 16 percent since the start of the year. In fact, CD sales are growing at a faster rate than vinyl, which is impressive. (Although overall CD sales won’t be catching vinyl anytime soon.)
This has spurred more and more audio manufacturers to capitalize on the CD’s growing resurgence. Since January, brands like Marantz, Bang & Olufsen, NAD, Quad and Cambridge Audio have all released new CD players, CD transports and modern Discman.
