This past fall, Quad introduced a new flagship range of hi-fi components, which it named the Platina Series.
At launch, the range consisted of two components, a high-end integrated amplifier named the Platina Integrated ($5,495), as well as a network player named the Platina Stream ($4,495). Both, as you can tell from their prices, are designed for pretty serious audiophiles.
Now, the famed British hi-fi manufacturer is adding a third component to its Platina Series. And it’s specifically designed for those who want to add CD playback capabilities to their hi-fi system.
Quad Platina CDT

A flagship CD transport
The Quad Platina CDT is a high-end CD transport designed to match the look, footprint and playback capabilities of the company’s existing Platina Series components.
In combination with the Platina Integrated and Platina Stream, Quad claims that the Platina CDT helps form “a cohesive platform for modern high-fidelity playback [that unites] physical media, streaming and amplification within a consistent architectural and sonic framework.”
