Focal is a luxury hi-fi manufacturer that specializes in some pretty insane loudspeaker systems.
For example, just a few weeks ago, the company introduced the Diva Alta Utopia, an absolute behemoth of a wireless active speaker system that it claims “redefines what you can expect from an all-in-one hi-fi speaker.” It costs $210,000.
This week, Focal is turning its attention to passive loudspeakers with the introduction of the successor to its Scala Utopia Evo, the most entry-level floorstanding loudspeaker in its flagship Utopia series. The company currently sells a pair for roughly $40,000.
The new models, the Scala Utopia Evo M, go for well north of that.

Focal’s Scala Utopia Evo M are obviously some pretty insane audiophile loudspeakers, even if they are technically the most entry-level models in the brand’s flagship Utopia series. (For context, the flagship Grande Utopia EM Evo floorstanding speakers cost roughly $300,000/pair.)
