Noble Audio is an American hi-fi company that specializes in high-end, artisanal in-ear monitors aimed at serious audiophiles and musicians. Most of the company’s offerings range from around $300 to over $4,000.

But the Texas-based brand has also embraced wireless audio, releasing its first true wireless earbuds in 2019 and, as of today, makes several different models. Naturally, they’re targeting hi-fi enthusiasts, so their offerings range from between $300 and $700.

Now, the company is switching gears a little bit by releasing its most affordable wireless earbuds to date. In fact, they’re priced less than most top-of-the-line wireless earbuds by Sony, Bose and Apple.

An entry-level addition

The Osprey is the newest addition to the brand’s wireless earbud offerings, which also include the FoKus Amadeus ($320), the FoKus Rex5 ($449) and the FoKus Prestige Encore ($699).

At $199, the Ospery is by far its most affordable option. “Designed to introduce more listeners to Noble Audio’s celebrated sound signature,” reads the press release. “Osprey delivers engaging, high-fidelity performance in a refined and beautifully crafted wireless design.”

Lossy audio streaming

Each Osprey earbud features a hybrid dual-driver configuration that pairs a 10mm dynamic driver with a custom-balanced armature. According to the brand, this combo “provides confident, controlled bass, a natural and expressive midrange, and clean, extended highs with excellent separation.”

Additionally, the earbuds support high-quality Bluetooth codecs, including LDAC, which has a max bitrate of 990 kbps, ensuring they can handle the best possible audio streaming over Bluetooth. (Note: Your streaming device that you’re streaming from must also support LDAC.)

Obviously, the other standout feature of Noble Audio’s Osprey is their design. Each earbud has a blue marbled faceplate finish and comes in a matching aluminum charging case.

Additionally, the Osprey are bonafide rivals to Apple’s AirPods Pro (among countless others) as these wireless earbuds also support active noise-canceling and transparency listening modes. Both can be switched off to prioritize audio quality, of course.

The earbuds are rated as having a 5-hour battery life with ANC on, and a 7-hour battery life with ANC off.
