This Striking and Affordable EDC Knife Has No Business Being This Nice for the Price

When it comes to EDC knives, what else can you ask for but striking looks and dependable performance at an affordable price? Seattle’s Blue Owl teamed up with Los Angeles’s 3Sixteen to create an over-dyed denim series using natural dye. Starting with 3Sixteen’s Kibata Series low-tension slub denim, milled in Okayama, Japan, the jeans are cut-and-sewn in LA. Then they’re shipped up to Blue Owl, which uses a local workshop to over-dye the denim with natural dye derived from lavender flowers. The result is a blend of Japanese indigo blue weft yarns with rich purple covering the warp yarns. It is available in 3Sixteen’s Relaxed Straight fit and Classic Straight fit.

Expedition Motor Company is back with another restomodded Mercedes-Benz W460 Geländewagen, a.k.a. the G-Class. This time around, however, its latest 250GD build dons a new, eye-catching Magma Orange paint exterior. But more so, this latest 250GD sports the company’s most bang-up-to-date powertrain that isn’t just some basic, rudimentary Chevy LS V8-based swap. Rather, EMC this time swaps in a far more modern turbocharged diesel inline-five, or more specifically, the newer “OM 605a” typically found in the W124 and W210 E 250 and W202 C 250 diesel models from the 1990s. The result is reportedly around 225 horsepower, which is more than double the power of the 250GD’s original 93 horses. It’s mated to a five-speed manual.
