A dive into Toyota's next-generation Tundra, And Wander and Salomon's latest sneaker collab and Snow Peak's new beer (yes, you read that right).
I don't know about most of you, but this "sweet spot" between summer and autumn — when the temperature is still warm enough to avoid wearing a jacket but cool enough to not worry about breaking a sweat after walking around for 30 minutes — is one of my favorite times of the year to head out and enjoy the outdoors. Sure, you're not heading to the beach, but that doesn't mean there isn't a plethora of different things to dive into now that things are (starting to) cool off from the summer heat. From the details on the newest Toyota Tundra to Snow Peak's newest beer (yes, you read that right), get the lowdown on today's best gear news and updates.
Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and news. We’d love to hear from you at tig@gearpatrol.com.

Driving into dealerships this December, Toyota's 2022 Tundra has an entirely new engine setup. Centered on a 3.5 L twin-turbo V6 that pushes up to 389 horsepower and pulls 479 lb-ft of torque right out of the box, an optional i-FORCE MAX upgrade configuration tunes those specs up to 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

"Takibi" isn't just the Japanese name for "bonfire" (or the name for Snow Peak's restaurant in Portland), it's the inspiration behind Snow Peak's collaboration brew with Oregon's Ferment Brewing. Crafted with combination of European malted barley and toasted rice, the beer is a Japanese-style lager that's prime for fireside gatherings.
The fifth iteration of their collaboration, And Wander and Salomon have once again teamed up on three sneaker silhouettes for Fall/Winter 2021. Blending street-smart style with trail-ready practicality, shoppers can choose between the techy Odyssey, the hiking-adjacent Outpath or the fashion favorite XT-6.
DSPTCH is always focused on crafting products with durability and longevity in mind, so the introduction of the new "Dot Grid" fabric feels in line with the brand's mission. Waterproof and rugged, the fabric adorns everything from totes to backpacks, pocket-sized pouches and on-body sling bags.
