Moncler, the luxury outerwear brand with alpine roots, has a penchant for collaboration. This is best summed up in its Moncler Genius project, which taps notable designers to put their spin on Moncler outerwear. In lieu of a traditional fashion designer, Moncler has confirmed a collaboration with former Apple icon (and man behind design firm LoveFrom) Sir Jony Ive. While details on the collaboration are scant at the moment, it's believed that the pair will be blending Moncler apparel with Ive's world-renowned aesthetics (he did help design the iPod and iPhone), focusing on sustainability. As we wait for more news on the upcoming collection, take a look at today's gear updates, including J.Crew's curated vintage watch shop and the custom googles that are designed to fit perfectly — thanks to your iPhone's selfie camera. Originally designed for French Naval combat swimmers, the Pelagos is Tudor's most impressive dive watch this side of the cult-favorite Black Bay. Tudor's Pelagos FXD Marine Nationale is a rework of the original. It features water resistance at 200m, a thinner 42mm case with a "countdown" bezel, lumed dial and — frustratingly — a fixed-lug case (meaning, like NATOs, it can only host pass-through straps in things like fabric or rubber).
Inspired by the bright dots lining your nearest city skyline, Po Campo's "City Lights" bags — ranging from a mini bag to a backpack — are designed for day-to-night riding. While we love the easy access provided by a suite of side pockets and Fidlock magnetic buckles, we're impressed by the use of first-of-its-kind Visi-Hemp material, providing reflective visibility on the road with a focus on sustainable fabrication.
Smith has set out to make sure everyone scores gear that's designed for the exact dimensions of their face with the introduction of the I/O Mag Imprint 3D goggle. After scanning your face with a proprietary Smith app (using only your phone's selfie camera), Smith taps into the data to 3D print a goggle frame that's sculpted to the exact dimensions of your face. Two weeks later, your goggles should arrive on your doorstep.
