The current Porsche 911 Turbo S is a fairly exclusive car with supercar-taunting power and performance. But that didn’t stop Stuttgart from creating this 607 horsepower brick of gold bullion on wheels. And much like an actual brick of gold bullion, Porsche is keeping this 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series rare; only 500 examples will be made, each with a price tag of $257,500, or around $67,000 more than the standard Turbo S. But don’t worry; if you’re tastes aren’t of the Auric Goldfinger kind, Porsche offers the special edition Turbo S in a spectrum of other “carefully selected exterior colors.”
For $257,000, you’ll get the aforementioned 607 horsepower 3.8-liter bi-turbo flat-six engine (up 27 horsepower from the standard Turbo S), the limited-edition paint job, carbon-fiber racing stripes, unique center-locking wheels, Porsche’s Turbo Aerokit and golden accents throughout. Porsche also throws in a matching Porsche Design watch, because, why the hell not?
This may just be a case of Porsche learning from its experience with the ultra rare and extremely coveted 911 R. Which is to say that Porsche made a special edition because they know people will buy it despite the premium and minimal power bump. Then again, the Turbo S is already an insanely quick car with a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds — but it’s not exactly the most dramatic-looking sports car these days, so you are generally paying for a better-performing, more unique 911. So if you are a Bond villain, love gold, and/or already have a matching gun, Porsche has a 911 Turbo S waiting for you.
